About the Role

SPP Corp is seeking a highly motivated Software Developer to join our IT Applications Reliability team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing application administration, maintenance, development, testing, software release management, upgrades, security, compliance, and production support for our IT Reliability & Operations Support teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Application Administration: Install, configure, maintain, and support assigned application systems.
  • Issue Resolution: Monitor, investigate, and resolve system issues and/or abnormalities ensuring that the system operates and performs per requirements.
  • Customer Support: Acknowledge and remediate customer-reported issues and inquiries in a timely manner.
  • On-Call Rotation: Participate in 24/7/365 on-call rotation.
  • Problem-Solving: Multi-task, problem-solve, and demonstrate an ability to grasp complex and highly integrated systems.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Demonstrate detailed knowledge around specific applications or interfaces and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the business and technical requirements of their assigned system.
  • SDLC and Project Life Cycle: Engage in applicable phases of SDLC and project life cycle including but not limited to requirements and design, test execution, non-Production environment support, release deployment, and coordination of implementation plans across multiple teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Technical Documentation: Create and maintain technical system documentation.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend and implement changes and enhancements to systems, processes, and documentation.
  • Professional Development: Continue to develop and retain technical skills specific to those applicable to their assigned focus area.
  • Training and Mentoring: Provide training in areas of expertise to other employees and mentor Level I and new team members.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Programmer Developer I - No experience required; Programmer Developer II - Three (3) years' experience of Information Technology Development/Support experience; Senior Programmer Developer - Eight (8) years of applicable Information Technology Development/Support experience.
  • Technical Skills: Competent and effective working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Unix or Linux operating systems, application development and support, and database management systems.
  • Soft Skills: Competent and effective troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills; competent and effective written and oral communication skills; good customer service and organization skills.
