Primary Purpose of this Role

The Senior Manager of Quality will oversee the implementation of the quality management framework and foster a proactive quality culture at the ATI Specialty Materials Titanium production facilities. This role is pivotal within the quality leadership team, focusing on enhancing processes, product integrity, employee expertise, and ATIs quality management system while promoting our commitment to Zero Defects. Success in this position requires active engagement in the daily, hands-on development, deployment, and execution of sustainable quality best practices and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities (additional duties may be assigned)

  • Lead a team of quality professionals responsible for the daily oversight of the quality function across one or more ATI manufacturing locations.
  • Exhibit exceptional leadership capabilities to manage and cultivate development opportunities for Quality team members.
  • Oversee quality aspects of internal and external qualifications for critical production assets and process modifications.
  • Provide reports and strategic guidance to leadership regarding quality challenges, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Engage with external customer quality and technical representatives to manage quality and manufacturing site evaluations.
  • Ensure the upkeep of quality documentation and procedural records.
  • Support the internal and accreditation audit initiatives.
  • Facilitate APQP implementation to promote proactive quality measures and informed decision-making.
  • Assist in Product Quality Planning tools such as APQP, PFMEA, 8D, MSA, and PPAP.
  • Act as a quality resource for cross-functional teams in problem identification, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Champion best practice initiatives aimed at enhancing quality.
  • Play a crucial role in fostering a culture where safety and quality are core values by demonstrating leadership and providing education to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with all ATI business units to ensure the sharing of knowledge and experiences across the organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science Engineering, a technical field, or a business-related discipline; or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • 5 years of experience leading a quality organization within a manufacturing context.
  • Proven experience in spearheading Quality initiatives in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in leading functional teams and projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO9001, AS13100, Nadcap standards.
  • Understanding of Lean Principles.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PFMEA, PPAP Processes.
  • Expertise in Training and Development Principles.
