The Lead Educator is tasked with delivering exceptional care and education to the children enrolled at Little Endeavors Child Development Center. This role emphasizes effective communication with administrative staff, fellow educators, and parents to foster a nurturing environment.

The Lead Educator embodies the philosophy and policies of Little Endeavors, ensuring a high standard of care that enhances the center's reputation for excellence within the community.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Lead Educator include, but are not limited to:

Instructional Duties

  1. Design and execute both long-term and short-term educational activities aligned with curriculum goals and developmentally appropriate practices.
  2. Engage with children in a compassionate and respectful manner by:
    1. Establishing clear and simple rules
    2. Communicating with children effectively
    3. Modeling positive behavior
    4. Guiding children in correcting their misbehavior
    5. Encouraging a growth mindset regarding mistakes
    6. Teaching conflict resolution and the importance of apologies
    7. Recognizing and praising positive behavior
    8. Providing clear choices to children
  3. Maintain consistent and professional communication with parents.
  4. Demonstrate leadership in program direction while managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  5. Support management and regulatory standards in the classroom and throughout the center.
  6. Adhere to all policies set forth by Little Endeavors.
  7. Keep accurate records including attendance, daily logs, emergency contacts, and incident reports.
  8. Ensure open communication with parents through various channels.
  9. Prepare organized plans for assistant teachers during absences.

Collaboration with Colleagues

  1. Encourage assistant teachers to participate in lesson planning.
  2. Mentor assistants to prepare them for leadership roles in your absence.
  3. Maintain effective communication with all staff members.
  4. Foster a collaborative relationship with the center's director.
  5. Approach feedback with a constructive mindset.
  6. Exhibit a positive demeanor at work.
  7. Be friendly and respectful to all staff.
  8. Seek opportunities to assist throughout the center.
  9. Share resources and ideas with colleagues.
  10. Communicate directly and avoid gossip.

Administrative Responsibilities

  1. Exhibit reliability in attendance and punctuality.
