Job SummaryThe Clinical Technician EMT provides direct patient care under the direction of a nurse and performs other tasks necessary for unit operations.
Key Responsibilities- Provides direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, wound care, and medication administration.
- Assists with patient transfers, transports patients to other areas of the hospital as needed.
- Performs phlebotomy, collects and labels specimens, and delivers them to the lab.
- Applies orthopedic splints, assists with the application of simple dressings, and performs glucometer finger sticks.
- Provides post-mortem care and assists with the application of restraints when necessary.
- Acts as a patient sitter when one-to-one observation is required.
- Minimum of High School diploma or GED required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Valid Licensure as an EMT in the State of Florida with acute care experience required.
- Basic computer knowledge: ability to operate a PC, create/save/print documents, input data.
