We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Texas A&M University School of Nursing. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for primary care and a commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services in a rural setting.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that involves working in a mobile school-based clinic setting, providing primary care to students, faculty, staff, families, and community residents in the Brazos Valley region of Texas. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for performing history, psychosocial, and physical examinations, diagnosing acute, chronic, and urgent/episodic primary care conditions, formulating therapeutic plans of care, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic imaging tests, medication management, and educating patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver primary care in a mobile school-based clinic setting
  • Provide medical services to students, faculty, staff, families, and community residents
  • Perform history, psychosocial, and physical examinations
  • Diagnose acute, chronic, and urgent/episodic primary care conditions
  • Formulate therapeutic plans of care
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic imaging tests
  • Manage medications
  • Provide education to patients and their families
  • Counsel and instruct patients on medications, disease, procedures, and preventive healthcare
  • Assess, stabilize, and determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a Master's degree in nursing or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You should also have at least one year of directly related experience serving as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Additionally, you must hold an active license as a Registered Nurse and as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse, Family Nurse Practitioner, in the state of Texas with prescriptive authority and national board certification as a family nurse practitioner.
