Position Overview
We invite you to join our Global Design, Simulation, and Substrate team as a Package Design Engineer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing cutting-edge package designs for sophisticated semiconductor devices, including DRAM/LPDDR, NAND, and ASIC technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Coordinating Package Codesign: Collaborate closely with architects and design leads throughout the chip development process to optimize die floorplan and interconnection schemes, ensuring peak system performance.
- Feasibility Studies: Conduct thorough assessments of various package options, focusing on manufacturability and reliability.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work with key business unit stakeholders and assembly partners to propose package solutions that align with market demands.
- Technology Development: Support the advancement of packaging technologies, including material selection and process development.
- Project Management: Track and drive program milestones to guarantee timely execution of development activities.
- Design Support: Provide assistance for thermal, mechanical, and electrical simulation analyses.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the design group’s ongoing enhancement initiatives, including global design alignment and competitive analysis.
Qualifications
We seek a passionate engineer with the following qualifications:
- A master’s or doctorate in electrical engineering or a related field, encompassing mechanical engineering or materials science.
- At least one year of relevant experience in semiconductor packaging, particularly in substrate design and PCB design.
- Proficiency in tools such as Cadence and AutoCAD, along with a solid understanding of assembly processes and materials.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical circuits and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
