Culinary Pastry Specialist

GENERAL OVERVIEW

The Culinary Pastry Specialist is tasked with the creation and preparation of an array of baked goods, including breads, pastries, and desserts.

FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE COMMITMENT

All Team Members are expected to uphold a Four Diamond standard of Customer Service by adhering to the Quality Standards set forth by Pechanga Resort and Casino.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Prepare and bake a variety of bakery items in accordance with established recipes and standards.
  • Utilize precise measurements to modify ingredient quantities as necessary.
  • Set up baking stations, including ovens and mixing areas, ensuring correct temperatures and timings for each product.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain all baking machinery and equipment.
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation protocols at all times.
  • Safeguard the assets of Pechanga Resort & Casino while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: A high school diploma or GED is required; a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is preferred for success in this role.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Proficient in reading and interpreting safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedural documents. Capable of composing routine reports and correspondence. Effective verbal communication skills are essential for interactions with customers and colleagues.

MATH SKILLS: Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and volume. Familiarity with basic algebra and geometry is beneficial.

REASONING ABILITY: Capable of applying common sense to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions. Able to address issues involving multiple concrete variables in standardized scenarios.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Experience in a high-volume baking environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years in baking and pastry production.
  • Strong knowledge of scratch baking techniques.
  • Decorating skills are preferred.
