The Senior IT Compliance Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring that the IT systems and processes of Burns & McDonnell adhere to all applicable regulations and standards. This position involves conducting audits, risk evaluations, and compliance assessments to pinpoint potential challenges and collaborating with IT leadership to implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive IT risk assessments by aligning with business objectives, internal controls, enabling technologies, and IT infrastructure.
- Design and execute assessment plans for emerging technologies and processes.
- Utilize compliance tools and analytics effectively to support compliance initiatives.
- Perform audit activities across various technologies and IT functions within the organization.
- Evaluate the design and operational effectiveness of internal IT controls.
- Lead the formulation and execution of IT Compliance policies and procedures.
- Oversee and manage IT audit schedules, collaborating with relevant teams to ensure audit readiness.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and enhancements in auditing practices.
- Assess controls aimed at preventing or detecting fraudulent activities, including management override of controls.
- Communicate audit findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to management, both verbally and in writing.
- Prepare and present audit findings as necessary.
- Facilitate meetings and presentations with stakeholders as required.
- Stay informed about changes in relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
- Enhance knowledge of regulations and emerging technologies continuously.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff members.
- Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes.
- Comply with all company and site safety policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (or equivalent experience may substitute for degree requirements).
- Exceptional skills in customer service, troubleshooting, and analytical thinking.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices.
- Ability to independently resolve issues and make informed decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in using personal computers and various software applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
- Familiarity with common audit frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST 800, COBIT, COSO).
This position is categorized under Information Technology and is a full-time role. Travel may be required up to 5% of the time.
