About the Role

Duke Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Duke University Hospital. As a key member of our imaging services team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of health together.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate x-ray equipment to produce high-quality radiographs of designated anatomical areas, adhering to radiation safety guidelines.
  • Position patients for optimal imaging, using positioning assistance devices and protective equipment as needed.
  • Monitor accessory equipment and assist physicians with fluoroscopic procedures and special radiographic procedures.
  • Process images for optimal quality, ensuring accurate matching with relevant paperwork for interpretation.
  • Charge radiographic procedures, modifying orders as necessary, and demonstrate acceptable film quality standards.
  • Understand and utilize the Image Archival System, providing education and training to affiliated radiology technology programs.
  • Provide orientation to new technologists and perform other related duties incidental to the work.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Completion of an AMA-approved School of Radiology Technology or ARRT Certification.
  • Level I: Obtain ARRT certification within one year of employment.
  • Level II: Minimum of two years' experience as a diagnostic radiology technologist.
  • Level III: A minimum of 4 years' experience within specialty modality in which you are seeking promotion.
  • BLS certification.
