Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist

Job Summary
The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist will perform a variety of mammography examinations, including receiving patients, explaining procedures, positioning patients, and making necessary exposures. The incumbent will also assist radiologists and operate equipment in the performance of special mammography tests, such as needle localizations, stereotactic biopsies, and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
Responsibilities
- Perform mammography examinations, including receiving patients, explaining procedures, positioning patients, and making necessary exposures.
- Assist radiologists and operate equipment in the performance of special mammography tests, such as needle localizations, stereotactic biopsies, and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
- Track patients using Volpara, print result letters, and mail outpatient letters.
- Assist with protocoling of mammography and ultrasound requests and schedules procedures.
- Assist radiologists in filling out reports for positive or negative findings on breast biopsies or needle localizations.
- Upload mammograms from other facilities.
- Coordinate scheduling with the Women's Health Clinic as needed.
- Perform daily and monthly QA checklists as dictated by the FDA and ACR.
- Submit work orders for repair of equipment and maintain documentation.
- Assist with meeting FDA requirements, preparation for the FDA annual inspection, completing QA testing, documentation, and correction of any deficiencies noted.
Requirements
- Valid and current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Mammography Certification.
- Completion of a full-time training course of at least 24 months in duration in a post-high school diagnostic radiologic technology program, evidenced by a certificate or an associate degree, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
- Public Law 97-35, the Consumer-Patient Radiation Health and Safety Act of 1981, requires that persons who administer radiologic procedures meet the credentialing standards in 42 CFR Part 75, Standards for the Accreditation of Educational Programs and the Credentialing of Radiographic Personnel.
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, with no virtual work schedule.
