Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of mammography examinations, including receiving patients, explaining procedures, positioning patients, and making necessary mammographic exposures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mammography examinations, including stereotactic and limited ultrasound procedures
  • Operate Mammographic, Stereotactic, limited ultrasound and DEXA equipment
  • Provide technical training and assistance to other personnel
  • Assist radiologists in performing special mammography tests, including needle localizations and breast biopsies
  • Track patient information and maintain accurate documentation
  • Coordinate scheduling with the Women's Health Clinic
  • Perform daily and monthly QA checklists and maintain accurate documentation
Requirements
  • Valid and current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Mammography Certification
  • Completion of a full-time training course in diagnostic radiologic technology
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The incumbent must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and must be able to maintain accurate and detailed records.
