Teleradiology Coordinator Job Description

The Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging at the University of Virginia seeks a highly skilled Teleradiology Coordinator to provide critical administrative support to the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for registering radiographic studies and patient information, ensuring timely patient study results are returned to contracted sites, and coordinating patient care services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Register radiographic studies and patient information for timely patient study results
  • Coordinate patient care services with contracted sites
  • Provide clinical administrative EPIC and PACS support to Clinical Faculty, Residents, and Fellows/Clinical Instructors
  • Ensure technical issues are resolved personally or brought to the attention of the PACS administrator/engineers
  • Coordinate follow-on action with reading radiologists, including connecting providers with radiologists and advising technicians of corrective/additional actions
  • Research conflicting personal information on patients and make corrections
  • Work with site representatives to resolve discrepancies regarding patient identities or study requirements
  • Manage image transmission issues and take administrative corrective action
  • Manage patient medical records/radiological images to ensure background information is available to sites
  • Provide technical advice to outside sites and ensure a high degree of confidentiality and conflict resolution
  • Recommend solutions for operational efficiency to interpreting radiologists
  • Report systemic problems encountered in receipt of images to the appropriate entity and flow through to resolution
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • At least one year of relevant experience
