Job Description

About the Role:

  • This full-time position involves working in an acute psychiatric setting, providing direct patient care, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
  • As a skilled professional, you will assess patient needs, provide education, and support families and caregivers in understanding mental health conditions and developing coping strategies.
  • You will work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery and promote positive outcomes for patients.
  • Your expertise in adult mental health will enable you to make a significant impact on the lives of those we serve, supporting their recovery journeys and empowering them to thrive.

Responsibilities:

Clinical Practice

Deliver high-quality patient care, including assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, and implementation, in accordance with AltaPointe Health's policies and procedures.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Participate in regular case reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and educational activities to enhance clinical skills and stay up-to-date with best practices.

Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely records of patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes, adhering to AltaPointe Health's documentation standards.

Education and Support

Provide education and guidance to patients and their loved ones regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.

Support patients in developing coping mechanisms, problem-solving skills, and stress management techniques to promote emotional well-being.

Foster a supportive environment, encouraging open dialogue, empathy, and respect among patients, families, and staff.

Professional Development

Pursue ongoing education and training opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in adult mental health, substance use disorders, and crisis intervention.

Engage in peer review and feedback processes to continuously improve clinical practice and contribute to a culture of excellence.

Stay current with industry developments, research findings, and emerging trends in mental health care, applying this knowledge to inform practice and drive improvements.

Safety and Security

Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to AltaPointe Health's safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Collaborate with security personnel and other teams to respond to emergencies, de-escalate crises, and prevent incidents.

Report any concerns or incidents related to patient safety, confidentiality, or workplace security to your supervisor or designated authority figure.

Salary and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary of $85,000 - $105,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold a current RN license to practice in the State of Alabama.
  • Demonstrate expertise in adult mental health, with a focus on acute psychiatric care.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in mental health nursing, preferably in an acute psychiatric setting.
  • Show evidence of continued education and professional development in adult mental health and related fields.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork.
