Responsibilities:
  • Provide family-centered healthcare utilizing a holistic and interdisciplinary approach to deliver state-of-the-art care to all patients.
  • Practice family-centered nursing according to policies and Nurse Practice Act.
  • Serve as Charge Nurse when assigned.
  • Supervise, plan, evaluate, and coordinate patient care provided by other licensed and non-licensed staff.
  • Abide by and enforce all compliance requirements and policies.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures and assist with diagnostic procedures required for the care of the patient.
  • Administer medications, including controlled substances, by all routes.
  • Administer blood and blood products.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency patient situations.
  • Start IVs.
  • Perform activities of daily living.
  • Perform basic life support and management of arrest situations.
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing meeting the minimum standards set by the state of Alabama.
  • Two years of professional nursing experience.
  • Licensure with the state of Alabama as a registered nurse.
