Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tool Fabricator to join our team at START. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for laying out, fabricating, assembling, and repairing jigs, fixtures, forms, templates, and related tooling used in manufacturing aircraft parts and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Operate various types of machinery, including cranes, forklifts, and heavy machinery.
  • Examine blueprints and/or MBD models to identify templates, jigs, fixtures, or other bond tools to be built.
  • Use measuring equipment, such as micrometers and calipers, to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Work with a variety of materials, including aluminum, steel, and graphite.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment to fabricate and assemble tooling.
  • Deburr and grind tools to ensure smooth operation.
  • Track hours worked on all jobs and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience in setup and operation of lathes, bridgeport, surface grinder, and other equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and GD&T.
  • Basic math skills and ability to perform calculations.
  • Must meet Export Control Compliance requirements and be a "US Person" as defined by 22.C.F.R.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Secret or Security Clearance.
  • Able to work varied shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the management team to drive performance and achieve goals.
Working Conditions

Working conditions may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles. The employee may be exposed to vibration and occasional exposure to caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. May be required to work weekends to meet department and business demands.
