Job Title: Assistant Professor of English and Africana Studies

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated scholar to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor of English and Africana Studies. The successful candidate will be jointly appointed in the English Department and Africana Studies program, engaging in innovative programs in the humanities and intellectual and cultural initiatives across departments and schools.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach courses in English and Africana Studies, including small first-year seminars and advanced electives
  • Maintain excellence in teaching and research
  • Contribute to departmental and programmatic initiatives
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in hand by August 2025
  • Primary expertise in literature of Africa or the African diaspora
  • Proven teaching ability and significant scholarly accomplishment
  • Commitment to building a diverse and inclusive academic community
