Psychiatrist - Inpatient Specialist

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking Six (6) Inpatient Psychiatrists to join the Psychiatry group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan. The Department of Psychiatry is at the forefront of providing compassionate and comprehensive mental health services in a dynamic and diverse urban setting.
We serve a vibrant community in New York City, offering a wide range of psychiatric services to individuals and families from all backgrounds across our 4 adult inpatient psychiatric units, 1 Adolescent inpatient psychiatric unit, our psychiatric emergency department, our substance use disorder services and robust adult and child ambulatory programs that deliver in-person and telehealth services.

The hospital has a psychiatry residency program and maintains a strong academic affiliation with New York Medical College to continue its high standards of healthcare delivery, and to provide its staff with teaching and research opportunities.

Responsibilities- Under general direction, performs or directly supervises the provision of the professional, general, or specialty medical work of ordinary difficulty.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the Privacy and Security rules outlined in the HIPAA guidelines.
- Examines patients, orders or performs appropriate diagnostic tests.
- Formulates diagnosis, directs or performs appropriate therapeutic treatment and counsels patients.
- Provides guidance and participates in the teaching of house staff, in staff conferences, and in research projects as directed.
- Advises the less experienced members of the professional medical staff.
- Plans, organizes and directs the operation of a major segment within a medical service or medical program in a hospital or similar health facility; or assists the Chief of Service in the planning, organizing and directing of the entire medical service or medical program.
- Assists in the administration and coordination of the service.
- Assists in the establishment and maintenance of standards of performance for physicians and other professional employees working in the service.
- Performs other administrative, professional, consultative duties as needed by the Chief of Service.
Must be board-eligible or board-certified in Psychiatry
M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine
Completed residency training in an accredited program within Psychiatry
NYS License

Annual Base Salary Range: $236,900 - $247,200
