The Trauma Care Technicians are responsible for executing fundamental patient care tasks, adhering to infection control protocols, assisting in the preparation of equipment for medical procedures, and delivering direct patient support in trauma and emergency scenarios. They possess expertise and hands-on experience with orthopedic injuries and the application of splints.
The trauma care technician aids nursing staff in the transportation of patients, assists individuals with activities of daily living (ADL), collects laboratory specimens, performs electrocardiograms (EKGs), and conducts finger stick blood glucose assessments.
Compensation Overview:
Qualifications:
- Proficient in suturing techniques and removal, dressing application, and splinting methods.
- Competence in CPR and EKG procedures.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Skillful in preparing wounds for medical treatment and assisting with specialized procedures, including incision and drainage of infected areas.
- Ability to support nursing personnel with routine patient care tasks.
- Capacity to function effectively as a team member and provide professional assistance to physicians and nursing staff.
- Proficient in interacting effectively with patients.
- Physical capability to lift, push, and pull as necessary.
- Previous experience as an Emergency Department Technician or Emergency Medical Technician is highly preferred.
