Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Your primary responsibilities will include setting up and operating hemodialysis machines, assisting with patient care, and maintaining a safe and clean working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient education and support to ensure patients understand their treatment options and can make informed decisions about their care.
  • Conduct pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight measurements, and perform vascular access evaluations to ensure patient safety.
  • Administer heparin as delegated or as allowed by state law, and initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders.
  • Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy and intervene as necessary to ensure optimal treatment outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of patient treatment, including vital signs, treatment parameters, and any notable events or issues.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and address any concerns or issues that may arise.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in patient care or a related field preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in a hospital setting or related facility; experience in dialysis care a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to lift up to 200 pounds and move with assistance machines and equipment as needed.
