Position Overview

As a Financial Reporting Specialist at our Syracuse facility, you will be instrumental in delivering analytical support to financial operations, driving business value, and managing potential risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide precise and timely data for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closures, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Oversee internal controls for the plant and coordinate SOX compliance activities.
  • Prepare financial statements to summarize and forecast the organization's financial position.
  • Manage balance sheets and analyze future earnings and expenditures.
  • Assist in the management of accounting, auditing, and budgeting processes within the organization.
  • Support audit preparations and reconcile any accounting discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations and prepare necessary reports.
  • Utilize accounting software to maintain accurate records and generate reports.
  • Delegate accounting tasks to team members as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Controller and upper management to prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Contribute to team objectives by completing related tasks as required.
  • Support capital expenditure planning and business case development.
  • Exhibit key organizational behaviors aligned with safety culture, values, ethics, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in finance or accounting with P&L responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Attention to detail coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative, innovative, and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer systems, including Microsoft Office, Google applications, and BI tools.
  • Commitment to teamwork in a high-performance environment.
  • Strong oral, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed leadership and project management capabilities.
