The role is based in the Bay Area, San Francisco and Palo Alto. We're open to candidates located near the Bay Area or willing to relocate.
Focus- Identifying safety shortcomings in our AI system, Grok.
- Developing and adapting evaluations to assess potential risks.
- Implementing methods from the ML safety literature to improve Grok's safety.
- Collaborating with other teams to ensure safety measures are implemented in the development pipeline.
- Innovating new ideas to bring us closer to our goal: Developing AI systems that accurately understand the universe and create new knowledge.
- Experience working on ML safety problems and demonstrating exceptional work.
- Expertise in ML and fine-tuning large language models.
- Experience developing and managing large-scale machine learning systems.
- Staying up-to-date with multiple ML safety domains.
After submitting your application, our team reviews your CV and statement of exceptional work. If you pass this stage, you'll be invited to a 15-minute interview, followed by four technical interviews:
- Coding assessment in a language of your choice.
- Safety Technical Session: Testing your ability to formulate, design, and solve concrete problems in safety.
- Project deep-dive: Presenting your past exceptional work to a small audience.
- Meet and greet with the wider team.
We aim to complete the main process within one week. Every application is reviewed by a member of our technical team, and all interviews will be conducted via Google Meet.
Annual Salary Range$180,000 - $440,000 USD
