We are in search of a highly skilled Senior Protein Research Scientist to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience and a strong background in protein chemistry, protein biology, and protein purification within a fast-paced laboratory setting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and engineer protein molecules, including both membrane-associated and soluble target proteins, utilizing innovative and strategic methodologies.
2. Conduct thorough protein structure analysis and modeling using advanced software tools to investigate protein structures and sequences.
3. Develop and optimize various protein and antibody expression and purification processes.4. Stay informed on the latest advancements in protein engineering technologies and relevant literature.
5. Contribute to product development initiatives by enhancing current protein purification processes to ensure high product quality.
6. Execute laboratory experiments aimed at developing, evaluating, or transferring methods and procedures, with a focus on protein purification and analysis.7. Prepare protein samples for data collection, processing, and structural refinement.
8. Establish and enhance protein-protein interaction bioassays by offering technical and scientific expertise.
9. Perform comprehensive data analysis and interpretation.
10. Prepare abstracts and present findings at scientific conferences.
11. Maintain and update laboratory procedures, documentation, and organizational processes, including routine equipment calibrations.
12. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify and resolve workflow challenges and improvement opportunities.
13. Communicate findings effectively with a diverse team of scientists, including upstream and downstream process development experts, quality control, quality assurance, and process engineers.
14. Proactively troubleshoot and resolve laboratory-related issues, including off-hours emergencies.15. Conduct complex laboratory experiments and fulfill additional responsibilities as needed.
16. Utilize relevant software for experiments and equipment, ensuring meticulous record-keeping.
17. Maintain a comprehensive lab notebook and accurate records in compliance with good laboratory practices (GLP).
18. Provide mentorship and training to junior scientists in research and development.
19. Guide junior scientists in maintaining detailed lab notebooks and adhering to GLP standards.
20. Collaborate within a cross-functional team of scientists, contributing expertise and innovative ideas to various projects.Qualifications:
- PhD in Protein Chemistry, Biochemistry, Immunology, Virology, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral experience in protein chemistry, expression, purification, and protein engineering, with a solid understanding of protein structure analysis.
- Proficient in designing and engineering both membrane-associated and soluble proteins and tags.
- Expertise in expressing and purifying membrane proteins, viral-like particles, and soluble proteins, with experience using AKTA systems preferred.
- Familiarity with mammalian cell culture and transfection, along with a solid grasp of cell biology principles.
- Technical proficiency in protein-protein interaction assays, including solid-phase binding, binding kinetics, and affinity measurements.
- Strong background in molecular biology techniques such as mammalian expression construct design, PCR, and RT-PCR.
- Exceptional attention to detail, eagerness to learn new skills, and commitment to quality standards.
- Proven ability to actively solve problems, think critically and creatively, and work independently on prioritized tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset within a highly cross-functional team environment.
- Strong team player with the ability to engage in professional discussions with individuals of diverse backgrounds and work styles.
- Outstanding organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
