We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Maintenance Manager to join our team at Waste Connections. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and improving daily activities of our fleet and shop facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Supervision: Foster a collaborative environment among personnel, ensuring adherence to our corporate safety program and promoting a culture of excellence.
- Maintenance and Repair: Ensure the maintenance and repair of our fleet and equipment, including front-end loaders, rear-end loaders, and other heavy equipment.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the control of inventory and maintenance of equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and statutes.
- Training and Development: Provide training and assistance to mechanics on methods for diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment.
- Financial Management: Assist in monthly financial projections and annual budget, ensuring departmental costs are maintained within budget.
- 7+ years of maintenance experience in truck, light, or heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
- Ability to train and motivate staff members to meet district objectives.
- Knowledge of air brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.
- Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Holds or ability to certify for CDL within 90 days of start date.
