Cornerstone Research, a premier consulting firm specializing in economic analysis, is seeking skilled valuation professionals at the Manager level to join our M&A, valuation, and bankruptcy practice. Our firm collaborates with both internal and external valuation experts who provide testimony in commercial litigation, including deal price disputes in both domestic and international contexts. This role entails designing initial analyses and leading teams of analysts and associates in executing valuation assessments while engaging with senior team leaders, experts, and attorney clients. It demands the capacity to deliver thorough evaluations of valuation challenges, encompassing methodology, data identification and collection, and industry analysis. Managers will engage in a diverse array of valuation projects within the litigation framework across various sectors. Recent examples of valuation tasks include:
- Evaluating the fairness of deal prices in M&A-related litigation across sectors such as cryptocurrencies, financial services, healthcare, energy, real estate, and more.
- Assessing the value of carried interest rights in private equity and venture capital.
- Utilizing option-pricing models to ascertain the value of different share classes in early-stage companies.
- Analyzing the effects of debt issuance on the valuation of existing debt instruments for medical device manufacturers.

Responsibilities
- Conduct valuations using various methodologies, including discounted cash flow models, comparable company analyses, and option pricing techniques.
- Develop and implement innovative analytical strategies to address complex issues in our work.
- Contribute to the marketing initiatives of the firm's M&A, valuation, and bankruptcy practice.
- Supervise, mentor, and cultivate junior staff.
Qualifications
- Proven interest and expertise in valuation techniques and their practical applications.
- Significant hands-on experience in performing valuations across diverse industries, typically gained through prior roles in investment banking, management consulting, or private equity.
- Ability to articulate complex analyses clearly and manage projects independently while guiding junior staff in valuation tasks.
- Understanding of capital markets and corporate securities, with the ability to interpret intricate legal documents.
- Strong skills in financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and statistical analysis.
- A relevant advanced degree, such as a master's in business, economics, or a related field.
- A minimum of three to five years of professional experience.
- Excellent analytical, communication, time management, and teamwork abilities.

Cornerstone Research offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. The base salary for the Manager role ranges from $265,000 to $302,500, with eligibility for signing and discretionary bonuses based on performance and contributions.
