Construction Project Manager for Retail Growth

As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our partners and vendors to manage all aspects of construction projects, covering the south central and southeast regions of Texas.
Estimated Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 per year
Job Description
As a Construction Project Manager at Family Dollar, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction process for new, relocated, and expanded stores, as well as remodels and renovations of existing stores. Your primary goal will be to ensure that our quality and financial standards are met, while monitoring store construction progress and costs. You will also be responsible for evaluating quality and taking necessary actions to keep projects on track and within defined budgets.
Key responsibilities include:
• Managing the construction process for new, relocated, and expanded stores, as well as remodels and renovations of existing stores.
• Ensuring that Dollar Tree quality and financial standards are met, while monitoring store construction progress and costs.
• Evaluating quality and taking necessary actions to keep projects on track and within defined budgets.
• Visiting store project sites to confirm LL construction progress and schedule store construction effectively.
• Holding Landlords, Architects/Engineers, and General Contractors accountable for timely and on-budget delivery of construction projects.
• Communicating with landlords and internal Dollar Tree partners regarding timeliness of turnover and openings of upcoming store projects.
• Ensuring that all internal and external stakeholders are kept up to date with the status of projects at all times.
• Inputting, maintaining, and managing all applicable construction key dates in the project management/tracking system.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• 5-10+ years of construction project management experience in the retail industry, including tenant improvement and new, ground-up construction, managing multiple projects simultaneously across a multi-state territory.
• A minimum of 5 years of ground-up building construction experience for a retailer or general contractor.
• Ability to travel approximately 50%-75% of work time as required or directed.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel and Word primarily, PowerPoint preferred).
• Technical training and/or experience in the areas of building code, estimating, mechanical, electrical, and/or structural disciplines.
• A college degree in a construction-related field.
• Familiarity and prior involvement with store fixturing, planning, operations, and/or merchandising.
