Brown Industries LLC is seeking an experienced Crane Operator to join our team in the Heavy Civil Construction division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating cranes up to 200 tons, driving production pile, and assisting with bridge construction activities.
Key Responsibilities- Operate hydraulic cranes up to 200 tons, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Understand and operate various types of pile hammers, including diesel, air, hydraulic, and drop hammers.
- Set up and drive pile with templates, ensuring accurate and precise placement.
- Assist with hook work related to bridge construction, including setting girders, setting forms, and supporting concrete placement.
- Read and understand crane load charts to determine load and radius capabilities.
- Have general knowledge of construction rigging, including the use of slings, cable chokers, spreader bars, and multi-part load blocks.
- Operate crane according to signals from the Pile Driver, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Knowledgeable in OSHA Regulations and ANSI standards in crane operations.
- Perform daily inspections of cranes, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Clean, maintain, and lubricate equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including carrying tools for running repairs.
- Maintain a clean job site, ensuring all tools and equipment are secured and hazards are eliminated.
- Take charge of all safety aspects related to crane setup, operation, and teardown.
- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy construction projects.
- Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, bringing problems to the attention of the foreman, safety director, or HR manager.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme weather conditions, including high heat and humidity, cold, ice, snow, and rain. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position requires lifting heavy objects, walking and standing for long periods of time, and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee must have excellent stamina and be able to work from platforms at height.
