Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Perishable Department Associate to join our team at Food Lion. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and driving sales growth in the perishable department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the perishable department
  • Process and prepare merchandise for sale, including receiving, stocking, and rotating products
  • Operate company tools and equipment, such as the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and ordering system (CAO)
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including food safety and workplace safety protocols
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve sales and customer service goals
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
  • Ability to use technical information to solve problems
  • Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in extreme hot and cold temperatures
