Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the Northern Arizona Council of Governments. As a Head Start Instructor, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and care to preschool-aged children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct and engage children in activities that promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and families to ensure a successful learning environment.
  • Plan and implement weekly lesson plans to meet program standards.
  • Assign tasks and monitor work to ensure a productive and safe learning environment.
  • Complete and submit required paperwork to document program compliance.
  • Clean and prepare classrooms regularly to maintain a healthy and safe environment.
  • Conduct health screenings for Head Start children and plan parent-teacher conferences to assess progress.
Requirements
  • Childhood Development Associate Credential (CDA) or equivalent state-awarded certificate.
  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, or related field with experience teaching preschool children.
  • Ability to work under general supervision with moderate difficulty.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions

Regular exposure to potential physical harm, hazardous chemicals, and infectious disease. Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions.
