Overview

The American Heart Association is seeking a Development Associate - School Engagement to join our team. As a champion for health equity, we are committed to advancing cardiovascular health for all, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, religion, age, language, sexual orientation, national origin, and physical or cognitive abilities.


This role will support the Development team and participating schools throughout the assigned territory with customer service and administrative support. Responsibilities include leading school assemblies and presentations, providing service to schools on-site and remotely, helping with email campaigns, scheduling recruitment and planning meetings with schools, and performing data entry and donation processing within established standards and policies.


This is a full-time, seasonal (temporary) position from December 2024 up through April 2025. The successful candidate will have a passion for health and the resourcefulness, detail-orientation, and customer-service to engage youth, teachers, and volunteers to enthusiastic action.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead school assemblies and presentations to engage students, teachers, and volunteers
  • Provide customer service and administrative support to schools and the Development team
  • Help with email campaigns and scheduling recruitment and planning meetings with schools
  • Perform data entry and donation processing within established standards and policies

Qualifications:

  • Experience with (or aptitude for) driving fundraising initiatives with schools and students
  • Strong customer service and teamwork orientation
  • Effective organizational, detail management, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and present to a wide range of audiences from kindergarteners to teens and adults
  • Ability to do daily local travel; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Expected pay range will be $19.60 per hour to $25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, and geographic differentials may apply
