Job Overview

The Deputy Chief Financial Officer will play a critical leadership role within the finance department. Reporting directly to the Global CFO, this individual will provide strategic financial insights, operational leadership, and day-to-day management of the financial planning, reporting, and compliance functions. This role will support the CFO in driving the company's financial strategy and ensuring fiscal discipline as the company continues its growth in the digital media landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Global CFO in defining and executing the company's financial strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Assist in leading the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function, providing insights on company performance and future growth areas.
  • Support capital allocation decisions, including investments in new digital platforms, acquisitions, and other growth opportunities.
  • Drive long-term financial planning processes, focusing on optimizing profitability and managing risk in the ever-evolving digital media sector.
  • Partner with the executive team to provide financial expertise in shaping strategic initiatives like content acquisition, digital product expansion, and revenue model innovations.
  • Oversee the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, ensuring alignment with the company's overall strategic goals.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to executive leadership and external stakeholders, including investors and board members.
  • Provide detailed analysis of financial statements, key metrics, and KPIs, offering recommendations to enhance financial performance.
  • Monitor key business trends and risks in digital media, delivering forward-looking insights to inform business decisions.
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, financial controls, treasury, tax, and procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting regulations (GAAP/IFRS) and company policies, including tax and audit requirements.
  • Drive process improvements and automation within financial operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability in line with the company's growth.
  • Identify and assess financial risks, particularly those associated with digital media, content distribution, ad revenue, and intellectual property.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with the CFO and legal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, governance policies, and regulatory standards to safeguard the company's assets and reputation.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Assist in recruiting, developing, and retaining top finance talent, ensuring the team has the capabilities required to meet business demands.
  • Act as the financial ambassador to other departments, promoting cross-functional collaboration and financial literacy across the company.
6. M&A and Investment Oversight
  • Support the CFO in evaluating mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships, with a focus on financial viability and post-acquisition integration.
  • Lead due diligence efforts, modeling the financial impact of various deals, particularly those related to digital platforms and content acquisitions.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles, with at least 5 years in a senior role (e.g., VP of Finance, Finance Director, etc.).
  • Experience in digital media, entertainment, technology, or related industries is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of digital revenue models, content monetization, subscription services, and digital advertising.
  • Proven experience with financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance, including GAAP, IFRS, and Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-growth environment, balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution.
