Role Overview: The Cyber Threat Intelligence team at Texas Capital plays a crucial role in mitigating cyber risks by identifying emerging threats through thorough research and collaboration with similar organizations, vendors, and behavioral analysis of threat actors. The team actively monitors external threats to empower various security groups within Texas Capital to implement preventive measures against potential attacks, prioritizing risk mitigation across our security infrastructure. This role offers opportunities for skill development across multiple cyber defense areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee internal and external intelligence sources, analyze threat reports/feeds, and convert threat data into actionable cyber threat intelligence reports.
- Draft and present cyber threat reports and briefings for executive, managerial, and operational audiences, addressing requests for information as necessary.
- Establish and refine primary intelligence requirements in collaboration with strategic stakeholders.
- Enhance threat models and MITRE ATT&CK mappings to ensure effective countermeasures are implemented.
- Investigate and document tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), sharing insights with team members to aid in threat hunting, detection writing, and incident response.
- Stay informed about cybercrime trends impacting financial institutions.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in information security.
- At least 2 years of experience in cyber threat intelligence, applying intelligence cycle principles to cyber threat analysis.
- Possession of one or more relevant certifications (CISSP, CTIA, CRTIA, CTIS-II, GCTI, GCFA, GCIH).
- Experience within the financial sector.
