The Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our culinary team. As a key member of our operations team, the Kitchen Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food service and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control the quality and consistency of all food served, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of taste, presentation, and safety.
- Create and adjust work schedules according to workloads and occupancy, ensuring that all staff are adequately trained and prepared for service.
- Order and receive ingredients and culinary supplies, maintaining accurate inventory levels and minimizing waste.
- Conduct regular departmental line-ups to ensure that all staff are aware of their responsibilities and are working together effectively.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all food preparation and production areas, adhering to strict health and safety standards.
- Conduct a monthly inventory of all products, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Ensure that all work areas are set up and ready for service at least 15 minutes prior to the start of service.
- Ensure that all food supplies necessary for service are in adequate supply and are delivered in a timely manner.
- Assist in controlling food costs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Assist in producing and plating dishes, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of presentation and quality.
- Prepare and properly store food items for advanced production, adhering to strict health and safety standards.
- Report any maintenance or security problems to the appropriate department promptly, ensuring that all issues are addressed in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time (at least 8 hours/shift).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time (at least 8 hours/shift).
- Ability to ensure efficient and effective operation of the food production outlet(s).
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate (verbal and written) in English with vendors, co-workers, and management.
- Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions.
- Ability to write and perform daily prep lists and par sheets.
- Ability to meet Omni Hotels & Resorts quality and performance standards.
- Ability to update and maintain inventory.
- Self-motivated and ability to work with limited supervision.
- Must be Servsafe Certified.
