Job Overview

Sojourner House, a leading provider of compassionate recovery services, seeks a Part-time Recovery Support Specialist to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of women and their children.

The Recovery Support Specialist will provide supportive services to women and their children, promoting a safe and supportive environment for recovery. Key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging and interacting with women in our recovery program, maintaining a professional and client-focused demeanor.
  • Modeling and supporting clients and staff in health and wellness activities and healthy coping skills.
  • Transporting women in recovery to and from appointments, as needed.
  • Assisting with childcare and supporting women with basic household management skills.
  • Handling confidential information discreetly and prioritizing daily tasks effectively.
  • Maintaining a positive, solution-focused demeanor when responding to conflicts or problems.
  • Supporting the organization's mission with sensitivity to cultural diversity and workplace harmony.
  • Providing gender-responsive, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented systems of care.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of applicable paid experience required.
  • Certified Addiction Counselor and/or Certified Recovery Specialist preferred.
  • Computer skills and administrative duties, including the ability to learn and record relevant software programs.
  • Act 33 and 34 clearances, FBI clearance, and a valid PA driver's license required.
