Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and process financial transactions and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure that all transactions and supporting documents are consistent and properly authorized. Monitor accounting systems for outstanding items.
  • Compile and maintain financial data and reports, ensuring accuracy in daily financial reporting.
  • Address and resolve transactional inquiries, escalating broader issues as necessary.
  • Respond to inquiries from various client groups regarding financial transactions.
  • May oversee p-card administration, travel card processing, and reimbursements.
  • Assist in establishing accounts within financial systems and preparing invoices.
  • Engage in new initiatives, including user testing as required.
  • Maintain departmental files and documentation, ensuring adherence to university policies and federal regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of financial regulations and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for report generation is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to efficiency.
  • A degree in Business or Finance is preferred.

Education & Experience (Required):

  • High School diploma or equivalent, along with two years of relevant work experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Required):

  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles.
  • Ability to utilize computerized office applications and accounting software.
  • Effective communication skills for internal and client interactions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently sit, sort, and file paperwork, and handle light objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Occasionally write by hand, bend, and stoop.
  • Rarely stand, walk, or reach above shoulder height.

Working Conditions:

  • May require extended hours during peak business periods.
