Job Overview

As a Building Engineer at JLL, you will be responsible for leading operational tasks for site-specific teams, setting an example for others, and providing training to engineers. You will also support operational engineering duties as needed, assist the Lead Engineer with system maintenance and repairs, and lead Apprentice Engineers in troubleshooting and repairing critical system failures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficiently handle and coordinate multiple tasks and project assignments
  • Interact with employees, visitors, and contractors with poise and diplomacy
  • Maintain a calm demeanor in emergency situations
  • Execute maintenance actions and provide quality control for tracking logs and files, system operation, and preventative maintenance
  • Assist with the development of best practices and coordinate with Lead Engineer and Apprentice Engineers to ensure quality services are completed on schedule
  • Implement system-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and assist in the execution of Method of Procedure (MOP)
  • Provide prompt and courteous response to tenant requests within guidelines set forth by JLL
  • Demonstrate full competency in all current JLL and property emergency procedures, including assisting with directing building occupants with evacuations, assisting with life safety system alarms, and utilizing fire alarm and life safety systems
Requirements
  • Collaborate with fellow engineering team members during maintenance and troubleshooting processes
  • Perform general repairs, maintenance, and replacement of building components, including building fixtures, plumbing, electrical, and A/C controls
  • Ability to function mostly autonomously and interpret instructions in written, oral, and diagrammatic or schedule form
  • Possess initiative to assume additional responsibilities and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Read and use all types of testing equipment, including analog digital multi-meters, pressure and temperature indicating and recording devices, air flow measuring devices, and leak detection devices
  • Knowledge and proper use of basic hand tools, such as socket sets, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, saws, and hammers
