Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated Senior Engineer in Threat and Vulnerability Oversight to enhance our growing team. This role is pivotal in managing our vulnerability oversight program, ensuring the security and integrity of our systems. As the operational authority on Qualys modules, you will lead efforts to identify and prioritize vulnerabilities, collaborating with both internal and external security teams for comprehensive assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the design, execution, and enhancement of our vulnerability oversight program.
  • Leverage Qualys for routine scans, evaluations, and penetration assessments to uncover vulnerabilities across our systems, networks, and applications.
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to swiftly address and remediate identified vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain a thorough inventory of assets along with their corresponding vulnerabilities.
  • Document all processes and procedures related to vulnerability oversight comprehensively.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging threats to refine our vulnerability strategies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and threat modeling to prioritize vulnerabilities based on their potential impact.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members in best practices for vulnerability management.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory mandates concerning vulnerability oversight.
  • Integrate threat intelligence sources to maintain a robust understanding of evolving security threats.
  • Assist in the selection and management of tools and systems to keep our security posture at the forefront.
  • Continuously update knowledge on emerging security threats and technologies.
  • Prepare detailed reports on security matters to aid in developing risk analysis scenarios and response strategies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • A minimum of 7 years in cybersecurity, specifically focusing on threat and vulnerability oversight.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Qualys, including all its modules.
  • Deep understanding of vulnerability assessment tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as CVE, CVSS, CWE, and NIST.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
  • Relevant industry certifications like CISSP, CISM, or CEH are advantageous.
  • Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of protocol analysis tools and techniques.
  • Understanding of the current cyber threat landscape.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Unix/Linux environments, as well as firewall and proxy technologies.
  • Insight into malware operations and forensic techniques.
  • Ability to think both tactically and strategically, managing uncertainty effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
