Role Summary:
The selected candidate will oversee the Quality Management System (QMS) at the Lyndhurst facility, focusing on the development, implementation, and management of all documented procedures and processes. This role demands expertise in managing internal quality audits (ISO9001 & IATF) and integrated management systems, as well as addressing internal and supplier Corrective Action Requests (CARs). The individual will also contribute to quality monitoring and problem-solving initiatives within Lyndhurst Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and enhance all QMS-related procedures, ensuring continuous improvement through corrective and preventive actions.
- Establish and manage certification schedules and activities, including both internal and external audits, to comply with ISO9001 & IATF16949 standards.
- Handle internal and supplier CARs, including initiation, monitoring, and resolution, while generating Quality Notifications via SAP for supplier-related CARs.
- Lead quality incident response (QIR) initiatives within the Lyndhurst facility, focusing on investigation and corrective/preventive measures.
- Assist in or lead continuous improvement projects, including cross-functional teams and problem-solving efforts related to quality nonconformance.
- Provide regular updates to management regarding compliance status, action items, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain control over standard forms, procedures, and web-based management systems.
- Monitor and assess automotive customer scorecards through their respective portals, ensuring compliance with assessment criteria.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering; advanced degrees are advantageous.
- Familiarity with automotive product quality standards (8D reports, PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA, Process Flow, and PSW) and the ability to facilitate training in continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven experience in implementing and maintaining a Quality Management System.
- Certification as an internal auditor is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in the Chemical Manufacturing sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of Quality Management principles (ISO 9001 and IATF16949).
- Proficient in computer applications (MS Excel, MiniTab, etc.).
