Job Overview

Foot and Ankle Clinics of Arizona stands as a prominent physician-owned podiatry practice in the state. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional healthcare services to our patients and the communities we serve. Our mission is to provide transformative healthcare through professionalism, compassion, and service.

This role is a full-time position with a schedule from Monday to Thursday, 7:45 AM to 5 PM, and Friday, 7:45 AM to 2 PM.

POSITION SUMMARY
This role involves assisting healthcare providers in delivering medical services, maintaining patient records, and collecting essential clinical information. The successful candidate will employ professionalism, expertise, and sound judgment to ensure an outstanding patient experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepare patients for examinations and treatments by ensuring they are ready for clinical assessments by our healthcare providers.


2. Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor in-office procedures, which may include taking radiographs and preparing injections. Adhere to universal precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as necessary. Manage patient flow efficiently throughout the clinical process.

3. Coordinate and oversee patient care, including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling. Responsible for collecting test results and documenting them in patient records. Serve as a resource for clinicians to enhance patient care.


4. Provide administrative support with patient notifications and documentation, ensuring comprehensive medical records, including labs, authorizations, X-Rays, and hospital records, are maintained accurately and promptly for billing purposes.


5. Ensure a clean and functional environment by disinfecting equipment, examination rooms, and storage areas. Follow sterilization procedures and adhere to OSHA guidelines when handling hazardous materials. Conduct basic maintenance of equipment and coordinate repairs as needed.


6. Order and stock supplies as directed, including managing medication orders and tasks related to medication management.


7. Foster effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating a service-oriented approach and teamwork in all interactions.


8. Complete all necessary onboarding and orientation activities as required.


9. Work under the direct supervision of management and healthcare providers, interacting with various staff levels across departments, patients, families, and external contacts regarding patient healthcare. Prioritize information from multiple sources to support patient and family responses to health changes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Foot and Ankle Clinics of Arizona will provide sponsorship for a radiology course for the hired Medical Assistant. Completion of this course is required within four months of employment to maintain the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

  • Experience with medical office procedures and familiarity with insurance, podiatry, or managed care operations, EMR, and scheduling software is preferred.
  • X-ray certification and relevant experience are advantageous.
  • Additional related education and/or experience is a plus.
