Job Summary

The Surgical Technician will work under the guidance of the Registered Nurse to provide care and safety for surgical patients. The role involves assisting the physician with preparation and technical aspects of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

Assist the physician with preparation and technical aspects of surgical procedures
Provide care and safety for surgical patients under the guidance of the Registered Nurse
Perform routine technical and various other duties as required

Requirements

BLS and ACLS certification
National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification
Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) certification
Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
Ability to stand for extended periods
Strong technical skills
Knowledge of medical terminology
Passionate about patient care

Skills and Abilities

Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills
Participates in relevant continuing education programs
Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients
Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise
