Job Summary

This role focuses on providing medical and clinical support services to patients. As a Surgical Technician, you will be responsible for assisting physicians and registered nurses before, during, and after surgical procedures. Your duties will include preparing surgical equipment and instruments, informing clinical leaders of equipment problems, and circulating throughout the unit to assist nurses and physicians as needed.

Responsibilities

Prepares surgical equipment and instruments for specific procedures
Informs clinical leaders of any equipment problems
Circulates throughout the unit to assist nurses and physicians as needed
Assists in transferring patients to the Recovery Room
Participates in restocking of rooms and checking and cleaning equipment on a daily basis

Requirements

Two years of operating room experience
Three years of same-day, orthopedic, endoscopy, LASIK, or other relevant surgical experience
Advanced knowledge of aseptic technique and infection prevention practices
Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with staff, patients, physicians, vendors, and other departments within the hospital
