UC San Diego Department of Education Studies is seeking a highly qualified Lecturer to join our team. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in our graduate level professional preparation programs, which will be assigned based on expertise.
ResponsibilitiesThe Lecturer will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses, including MEd/Multiple Subjects Credential, MEd/Single Subjects Credential in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and World Languages, and MA in American Sign Language - English Bilingual Education, including Multiple Subject and Education Specialist: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Credentials.
RequirementsThe ideal candidate will have a Master's degree or at least 6 years of P-12 classroom teaching experience, a valid California Professional Clear Teaching Credential authorizing English learner instruction, and at least 2 years of experience mentoring and/or supporting student teachers, intern teachers, and/or apprentice teachers.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred qualifications include California teaching credential(s) in an additional content area or in Special Education, Bilingual Authorization and/or bilingual skills, at least 1 quarter/semester of experience teaching at the postsecondary level, and at least 1 year of experience recruiting and preparing teachers.
