Position Summary

Engage in the assessment of plans, specifications, and proposals to develop accurate estimates for electrical projects and services.

Primary Responsibilities

Safety & Risk Management

  • Prioritize safety in all project undertakings.
  • Comply with the Company's Fleet Driving Policy.

Bid Management

  • Identify potential projects for bidding and gather necessary plans.
  • Review proposal specifications and participate in essential meetings to grasp project scope, raising relevant questions for clarification.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid packages and coordination of required documentation.
  • Formulate bids in accordance with Owner DBE/MBE/WBE requirements.
  • Evaluate project activities for compliance with regulations including OSHA, NC DENR, etc.
  • Prepare comprehensive estimates through thorough reviews for precise proposals.
  • Develop scopes of work for subcontractors.
  • Coordinate utility reviews and any necessary exploratory work prior to bidding.
  • Conduct evaluations after bids are submitted.
  • Lead transition meetings for effective project execution.

Document Management

  • Organize crew details including labor, equipment, and production data.
  • Compile lists of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Develop and oversee project schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to define work plans and responsibilities.
  • Ensure quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in regular meetings with owners, subcontractors, and engineers.
  • Define scopes for subcontractors and purchase orders.
  • Efficiently conclude projects.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and resolve challenges with a solutions-focused mindset.
  • Maintain high personal and professional standards.
  • Provide mentorship and training to on-site personnel.
  • Foster positive relationships with vendors and team members.
  • Offer constructive feedback to fellow estimators.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in electrical estimating.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, and other relevant software.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to effectively define scopes of work.
  • Experience in pricing, purchasing, and negotiating for materials and equipment.
  • Skilled in interpreting and analyzing technical drawings.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Strong planning, collaboration, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to jobsite standards.
