Electrical and Instrumentation Planner

Responsible for all processing area electrical and instrumentation planning activities. This position combines the responsibilities for E&I technicians, schedule execution, continuous improvement, and staffing to ensure company standards are maintained.
Perform difficult and complex electrical and instrumentation/control installation and repair on Crushing, Conveying, Grinding, Gold Recovery, and Water Treatment Facilities.
Ensure work is completed following appropriate and applicable provisions of the National Electric Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA 70).
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures that all tasks comply with Company health and safety requirements and policies and procedures and strengthens the culture of safety in the workplace.
- Demonstrate safety awareness.
- Participate in safety meetings and site safety programs.
- Assure effective cost and manpower controls through a formal and continuing maintenance management program.
- Maintain network communication between equipment, controls, field hardware, and DCS system.
- Respond to emergency situations during off hours as required.
- Review and provide input and suggestions on new system requirements.
- Participate in safety programs and coordinate the training of assigned staff.
- Develop training, instruction, and evaluation to entry and journey-level electrical/instrumentation personnel.
- Work effectively with others.
- Operate Department vehicles.
- Prepare written and verbal reports, memorandums, and correspondence.
- Assist in preparing annual budget.
- Develop the plan to provide supervision and management of internal & external resources outside of normal business hours when required for shutdowns and other major works.
Qualifications:
- Relevant Electrical Engineering Degree or Certificate (preferred but not required)
- Current Driver License
- Previous planning experience in a continuous production/process plant environment.
- Has significant experience of fixed equipment, crushing, grinding, milling plant, rotating equipment, and pressure vessels.
- 5-10 years of Industrial Electrical and Instrumentation experience
- Project management experience preferred.
- Experience in Electrical and Instrumentation Preventative maintenance programs.
Other Criteria:
- Satisfactory results from the prescribed medical examination and psychological appraisal which may indicate fitness and ability to carry out prescribed tasks to required performance and safety standards.
- Production of a satisfactory security clearance.
