Job Title: Director of Nursing

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Director of Nursing to lead our nursing programs on a single campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all students receive a quality education in a friendly environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate program quality and maintain accreditation standards.
  • Manage faculty, including hiring, orientation, development, supervision, evaluation, and discipline.
  • Acquire new and maintain current clinical sites to meet the demands of the courses and students.
  • Provide critical communication to facilitate role performance and program functioning.
  • Participate in planning measures to achieve academic success for students.
  • Implement new programs as directed.
  • Conduct and model professional behavior in interactions with students, staff, and administration.
  • Evaluate and ensure the quality of resources for program functioning.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an approved professional nursing program.
  • A minimum of a Master's Degree with a major in nursing.
  • At least five years of experience in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse and prior leadership/managerial experience.
  • A minimum of two years teaching experience in a professional registered nursing program as a faculty member.

    • Ability to coordinate schedules.
    • Ability to exercise and initiate sound judgment.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Communication Abilities:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to analyze, evaluate, and summarize information and report findings.
    • Ability to respond to and resolve sensitive issues and/or escalate to appropriate individual.
    • Ability to interact with a variety of individuals at various organizational levels.
  • Knowledge of Nursing:
    • Ability to apply an extensive knowledge of nursing standards and guidelines of patient care.
    • Ability to apply extensive knowledge of nursing theories and practices as it relates to curriculum development.
    • Thorough knowledge of role differentiation of practice between LPN versus RN role.
