Job Summary

Thorlabs is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling and testing electronic components and semiconductor devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and test electronic components and semiconductor devices
  • Read and follow production drawings and work orders
  • Position and align parts in specified relationships
  • Perform assembly tasks such as cleaning, epoxy bonding, and fiber attachment
  • Perform basic failure analysis and work with engineering staff to remedy problems
  • Tend machines used in the assembly and testing of components and devices
  • Adjust or trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics
  • Perform online go-no-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications
Requirements
  • 0-3 years' experience in semiconductor fabrication/assembly/packaging or other manufacturing/technical environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic English language, writing, and communications skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
Working Conditions

The Assembly Technician will work in a clean-room environment with hazardous chemicals, compressed gases, lasers, and high voltage. The employee must be able to work in a team environment and comply with high quality standards.
