Key Responsibilities- Provide counseling and financial assistance to students, including explaining financial aid options and eligibility requirements.
- Authorize student payments and refunds, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
- Develop and present financial aid presentations to interview applicants, highlighting the benefits of attending LECOM.
- Process Veterans' Benefits for eligible students, ensuring they receive the support they need to pursue their educational goals.
- Counsel students on the financial aid process, including debt management and satisfactory academic progress.
- Award federal financial aid in compliance with regulations, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely disbursements.
- Coordinate with multiple agencies to deliver financial aid funds, ensuring seamless support for students.
- Maintain student financial records, adhering to federal regulations and LECOM policies.
- Assist with budget development and educational materials creation for each academic year.
- Conduct regular presentations on financial aid procedures and eligibility requirements, keeping students informed and engaged.
- Participate in campus events, such as commencement, ceremonies, orientation, and open houses, representing LECOM and promoting its mission.
- Engage in professional development programs, staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
- Communicate regularly with students, providing updates, deadlines, and scholarship opportunities.
- Perform data entry, clerical, and phone responsibilities, contributing to the department's goals and objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of one year of relevant work experience.
- Strong computer literacy with MS Office Suite and accurate data entry skills.
- Excellent understanding of the admissions process and ability to market and promote professional programs in healthcare administration, medicine, pharmacy, and dentistry.
- Willingness to maintain an established work schedule and adhere to LECOM policies and procedures.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments, meet deadlines, and make sound decisions.
- Knowledge of pertinent laws, policies, and guidelines affecting areas of responsibility.
- Ability to work independently and as directed, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA and FERPA regulations.
- Compliance with State and Federal Regulations and Safety Protocols (OSHA).
- Effective use of interpersonal and communications skills, including tact and diplomacy.
- Effective use of organizational and planning skills, including attention to detail and follow-through.
- Time management skills in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and demands.
