General Statement of Duties:
The Physical Therapist will deliver evaluative and rehabilitative services as prescribed by the attending physician. Patient demographics may encompass both non-operative management and post-operative rehabilitation for spinal and extremity conditions.
Essential Duties:
- Designs and executes rehabilitation exercise protocols and therapy interventions tailored to individual patient needs based on established physician guidelines for both pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Maintains comprehensive documentation of treatment procedures, patient status, and any changes in condition within the electronic medical record (EMR). Monitors patient progress and communicates any significant changes to nursing staff and referring physicians.
- Engages with patients to discuss their rehabilitation status and prognosis, providing education on their specific injury, disability, or impairment, as well as the rehabilitation goals set collaboratively.
- Involves family members in discussions regarding the patient's progress and needs to facilitate independence in daily living activities.
- Participates in quality control audits within the Therapy Department to ensure high standards of care.
- Organizes patient treatment schedules effectively.
- Responsible for maintaining an organized, stocked, and clean treatment area.
- Bachelor's degree in Science is required; a Master's degree in Physical Therapy is preferred.
- Must hold a valid license to practice Physical Therapy in the State of Indiana.
- 1-2 years of experience in Physical Therapy is preferred.
