- Coaching and Counseling: Provide coaching and counseling to nursing staff to improve their performance and ensure compliance with regulatory mandates.
- Professional Development: Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
- Record Keeping: Record and document educational activity attendance and responses, as well as report on active projects, reactions, and progress.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the Director of Quality and/or Director of Nursing to plan, coordinate, and implement staff programs and services to ensure a well-educated staff.
- Communication: Maintain good inter- and intra-departmental relationships, interacting effectively with all internal and external customers.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Nurse Educator in Long Term Care.
- Licensure: Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Skills: Demonstrated ability to creatively educate and coach, CPR certification, training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices, and knowledge of emergency preparedness, safety, fire, disaster, and OSHA.
