Endeavor Health Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Health Educator to join our team at the EAST Haven Crisis Stabilization Center. In this vital role, you will provide essential health education and support to individuals during critical times, empowering them to navigate their crises with resilience and informed care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide preventative health and health literacy education in individual, family, and group modalities.
- Collect vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, and pulse oximetry.
- Conduct screenings, administer injections, collect urine samples, and draw labs as needed.
- Work in consultation with the EAST Haven counseling staff to triage higher-level care for individuals experiencing a crisis presentation.
- Consult with the staff psychiatrist responsible for psychiatric and medication evaluation.
- Document encounters with individuals served, including a narrative about their presenting concern and recommendations for treatment and linkage.
- Complete required trainings in a timely manner and maintain knowledge of community resources.
- A bachelor's degree in nursing, currently licensed as a Registered Nurse by the New York State Department of Education.
- Additional experience working and/or training in behavioral health is preferred but not required.
