Job Summary

This is a critical hiring need position for a Physical Scientist, General Engineer, or Economist at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. The selected candidate will serve as a leader in developing novel approaches to future risk identification and guiding the transformation of technical information into actionable policy and planning guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply technical expertise to lead the development of novel approaches to future risk identification using quantitative and qualitative methods and techniques.
  • Guide the transformation of technical information/data into actionable policy and planning guidance for anticipatory risk management for cyber, physical, and cyber-physical systems.
  • Apply expert knowledge of methods for identifying emerging technologies and the associated potential shifts in the strategic operating environment to inform resource prioritization.
  • Lead collaboration with public and private sector partners to develop insights into national-level risks to critical infrastructure systems.
Requirements
  • At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level (or equivalent) performing the following duties:
  • Applying technical expertise to lead the development of novel approaches to future risk identification using quantitative and qualitative methods and techniques.
  • Guiding the transformation of technical information/data into actionable policy and planning guidance for anticipatory risk management for cyber, physical, and cyber-physical systems.
  • Applying expert knowledge of methods for identifying emerging technologies and the associated potential shifts in the strategic operating environment to inform resource prioritization.
  • Leading collaboration with public and private sector partners to develop insights into national-level risks to critical infrastructure systems.
Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Education must be from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications.

Foreign Education: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the qualification requirements. You must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private U.S. organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program.
